About Ready 2
Network
Ready 2 Network was
established in
September 2006 by a
small group of East
Lancashire business
people.
Experienced networkers, the
group felt that the
established network
franchises did not
suit the way they
liked to do business
and that there could
be another way of
doing things.
Ready 2 Network is
run by the members,
for the members on a
not for profit
basis. As there are
no commissions paid,
there is no
membership fee and
the meeting fee, £5,
is set to cover
costs. |

Even so, a positive
bank balance
increases throughout
the year and it is
the members'
decision on how this
is used. One other
key factor in being
able to have such a
low cost base is
that the venue is
provided, free of
charge, by Pierce
Accountants. Other
members occasionally
host meetings and
are keen to do so.
The Group operates
on an exclusive
basis, in that only
one representative
from each area of
business can be a
member. These places
are much sought
after and it is in
the members'
interests to attend
each meeting as far
as possible to
ensure the
continuation of
their membership. It
is one of the
guiding principles
of the Group that it
is open to anyone
that does not
conflict with
existing members,
and nobody will be
excluded on racial
or religious
grounds.
Another objective of
Ready 2 Network is
to be less formal
than the franchise
groups but still
working on the
'know, like and
trust' concept. The
difference is that
we do not believe
that this is
possible to achieve
within one or two
ninety minute
meetings. Therefore
there is little
emphasis on passing
leads around the
table and experience
has proved that
plenty of business
activity takes place
but takes a little
time to develop and
a strict monitoring
system contributes
nothing to the
process.
We believe in having
variations in
meeting formats and
this has been
highlighted over
recent weeks by the
development of a
fictitious company
which has been
analysed, dissected
and is being
rebuilt. |

This allows
members to
showcase their
businesses, with
the valuable
secondary
benefit of
educating
members in the
business process
and how the
various
activities fit
together.

currently
running at
around thirty,

a number of
